BIOGRAPHY
Agam Englard-Saar is a member of the New Israeli Opera Studio program, where her repertoire includes the Erste Dame in Die Zauberflote (Mozart), Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), the Mother in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck) and other roles.
Agam was recognized as "a remarkable Fiordiligi" after performing the role of Fiordiligi in Così Fan Tutte (Mozart) at the Buchman-Mehta Opera Studio, with director Mr. Niv Hoffman and conductor Maestro Xu Ai-An.
Agam has performed Mendelssohns A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, under the conducting of Maestro Kurt Masur and Maestro Zeev Dorman.
Agam was chosen by Maestro Mendi Rodan to sing Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare (Handel) on the occasion of his 80th Gala Concert. She was also chosen to open Prime Minister Shimon Peres 80th birthday celebration with Höre Israel, from the oratorio Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn, in the presence of the 42nd President of the U.S.A., Mr. Bill Clinton.
Agam is a frequent performer with the Rishon Lezion Symphony Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Ra'anana Symphony Orchestra, the Israeli Chamber Orchestra and the Victor Carter Symphony Orchestra. She has sung with distinguished conductors such as Asher Fish, Jonathan Webb, Nicoletta Conti (Italy), David Sebba, Vag Papian and Michael Shani.
Agam graduated summa cum laude from her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University in the voice class of Prof. Tamar Rachum. She served in the Israel Defense Forces as an opera singer (excelling program). She graduated from the Thelma Yellin School of Arts with special distinction.
Her career began at the New Israeli Opera when she was discovered at a young age by Maestro Gary Bertini, who cast her as Moth in the opera A Midsummer Night's Dream by Benjamin Britten. At the Israeli Opera she performed in Max & Moritz, composed by Gil Shohat and directed by Roni Pinkovitz.
For more than a decade, Agam was a soloist of the Moran Childrens Choir conducted by Naomi Faran. She participated in international festivals, sang regularly with leading orchestras, and performed original compositions by leading Israeli composers.
She has presented recitals in Israel, Switzerland, Germany, Scotland, England and Italy.
Agam has participated in Master Classes with Alberto Zedda, Trish McCaffrey, David Stern, John Norris, Ann Rodiger, Boris Anifantakis (Staatsoper Berlin), Anne Champert (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Hilde Zadek, Teresa Cahill, Montserrat Caballe and Katia Ricciarelli.
Since 2005, Agam has been studying with Mrs. Abbie Furmansky in Berlin.
Agam was chosen to participate in the Placido Domingo Operalia Voice Competition at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris. She is a prize winner of several prestigious national and international competitions.
Agam has won merit awards from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, the Ronen Foundation, the Music Angels Trust and the Rubin Academy of Music.
